Forum: opensource_movies Subject: Moderator Deleting My Content For No Good Reason

I've uploaded several music videos with direct consent from copyright creator to upload and my videos keep getting deleted. Isn't that the purpose of IA? To archive work created?

Why was this removed? http://archive.org/details/vinnychaseilp

No obscene activity, no pornography.

I uploaded the video again here, look for yourself:

http://archive.org/download/vchasemusicvidilp/vinnychase.mp4

Why would this get deleted?

Or is a moderator over there just deleting stuff for "power tripping" purposes?

Beside questions about copyrights, the title in the details might raise some flags. People often use cryptic titles to get under the radar. Just a thought.

You're assuming that I own that site when in fact I don't. The fact remains that I uploaded a video to archive.org with the copyright owners consent, and it was deleted for no reason other than assumption. There was no spam in the description. Just keyword links to the website the video was going to be on (for search engine purposes). Is that wrong for trying to get targeted keyword traffic to my video? Isn't that the point of making a video (so that it can be seen)? Is it your job to police another website? Stop deleting videos that you are unsure about. Any news videos that I uploaded were for fair use, discussion purposes. If the copyright owner isn't sending a C&D and we are using the footage for fair use discussion, isn't that legal? I understand that Archive must be monitored for abuse, but it looks like my videos have been targeted by a "power tripping" moderator.

@Why

some look like spam so avoid a lot of spammy links on your items, also some with graphic violence may go so avoid those

@several music videos with direct consent from copyright creator to upload

but your site tos says the opposite about your items going to this other site. and some are just like tv rips too right, so how does that work

@just deleting stuff for "power tripping" purposes?

you not love pwnage? j/k

if Google Video, Youtube are ok with it like in your faq and archive.org hosting is not even a part of that, maybe just put everything at Google Video, Youtube instead and it's all good
